Default Help identify the missing part! 75 vette

Hi - I have this 75 vette- and it came with no windshield wiper motor at all. I now have one of them, but it has a nut on the end of it, and this is what I have on the end of the linkage. There is a missing transmission part of some sort. What exactly does this part look like? It does not seem to be something you can get from the parts vendors.

Thanks
-Chuck

these are of my 79, i took for reference before i disassemble for cleaning and resealing of the area. the arm that is held on the wiper motor by the nut, has a stud on it that the arms clamp too. your best bet for sourcing one would probably be contemporarycorvette.com, call and explain what you need. good luck.

Speaking of windshield wiper trays, how would one go about cleaning the tray and then resealing it? I know a few on here have done that. so wha products/meathods do you use?

going to remove the wiper arm assemblies, clean and paint them. i have scraped some of it out, it came out with a putty knife,pretty easy, dried and hard after 20+ years.
then going to sand it and reseal it similiar to original with some spray on bedliner stuff in a can i bought at Oriellys. i will test a small spot to see what it looks like before i continue, will post some pics later of the finished product, if it turns out ok.

Well, cleaning the wiper tray can be a problem...depending on whether the contents of the wiper tray will leak into your car, or not. If your floorboard gets wet when you wash the car or drive in rain, you probably don't want to 'flood' the wiper tray with a bunch of caustic cleaner and water...only to find it in your cabin a few minutes later.

Only you can be the judge of whether that will be a problem for your car.

In general, clean it out with soap/cleaner and water. Rinse it and dry it. The gaps/joints in the wiper tray were sealed with a non-hardening sealer [of unknown type] and then the tray was given the 'blackout' paint treatment along with the engine compartment. So, I suggest that you use a scraper or putty knife to remove any LOOSE sealant; but leave any that is well adhered alone. Then get a tube of black butyl rubber sealant (for caulk gun) at Lowe's and squirt away! Once you lay down a bead of butyl where you want it, don't "play" with it--just let it flow out naturally to fill/cover any potential leak areas. Let it skin-over and/or set up for the time shown in the instructions. Then paint it with semi-flat or satin black spray paint.

Now, if you want that "perfect" show-car look, you will have to remove ALL of the old sealant and then re-surface the interior of the wiper well. It won't look like a factory job, though.

thanks for the tips! As for the water issue, thats kinda the reason I want to do it, to see if I can stop all the leaking into my interior

[QUOTE=speedreed8;1575319648]these are of my 79,

wow excellent pics - thanks much. Does anyone know if this part is the same on a 79? What years used a common part with the 75? Chicago Corvette here said they have a whole bunch of these parts just that they are not sure which one is for my 75.

THANKS again
