I am A71AW, but not active on HF, I almost only active on EME on 144 and sometimes on 432.
Its nice to see a fellow HAM around!
EME, very nice .... I am not active, however I do a lot of Aurora on 50/144 ... I am QRV all Region1 VHF/UHF/SHF bands up to 3cm. I also have taken part in VHF/UHF/SHF contesting for more than 30 yrs now.... It would be nice to QSO you on 20, the band is frequently open and to A71-land no problem!.... N6WIJ here. Keep the license current but haven't touched a key or mic in years. Sold off all of the HF gear, still have the ALINCO DR-570, Yaesu FT-311, Yaesu FT-530 HT and an Icom IC-R70. 73's
UFB N6WIJ .... You just have get a HF rig again!!! ... I am hoping for a Vette to Vette DX QSO on 10 in a year or two when we have sun spot max.... There is not much ground plane on Vette, but on 10 it should be possible ... I have had a few mobile QSOs with state side earlier, not from my Vette though.
HF is back again with some great openings, we are going up-hill with the 24 sun spot cycle, which should peak in 2 years from now.
arneoe, unfortunately you are too far away for a VHF-up contact!, it may be possible on 6 meters though. Right now I don't have any antenna for HF, I had a TS-870, a Alpha 87A amplifier (1.5K) and a 5 band cubical quad, but I sold them all few years ago, and now I only have the VHF-UHF setup, FT-847 and ME1500-V 1.5K amplifier and a stack of two cross yagis. when ever I put a good HF antenna, we have to sked a QSO on HF
Sun spots are getting better and HF is also ..
Look my call up on QRz.com ..I have photos of my present HF station, and oh yeah, my C-3 too .
Dean/K3KHG
btw . my neighbor has a '78 anniversary addition C-3, and his call is N3HYR.

I didn't ever expect to see any fellow ham in this forum!,, its really nice to see you guys here
Dean, you have such a great shack, I like that Collins Radio line
I'm away from HF since 2001 or so, I live in a horrible area where they don't allow any tall masts/towers, but I'll be moving in about 6 months to a new house which is 20 miles out of the city and I will try to put up some good antenna for the HF.

We need to create a net on 20 meters, C3 net?
The 20 mtr net sounds ok once you get located at your new QTh.
btw ..I have been also working a lot of 2 mtr repeater dx using my android phone with an echo link application ... ( just another option )

UFB! A lot of HAMs are QRV on C3 forum. I made CQ calls on C6/5/4 and 1/2 forums to invite Vette lovers to join up here. A Vett net with SKEDS would be nice during the cold winter nights to come. I have to look at the frequency forecast to suggest SKEDs.
Hi,
No HAM here, but a story...
After the first sputnik, (1957?), was launched, some of the people in my neighborhod in New Jersey stayed up in the middle of the night to hear the signal received by our local HAM operator's equipment. Just sort of a 'beep', but still thought it was pretty cool.
Seeing it pass overhead was more interesting. A light much like an aircraft but it didn't blink.
Regards,
Alan
