Just came back from a trip with my new headers\sidepipes from Jet-Hot (Extreme Sterling finish) and the headers are a mess - had to ride in a little rain in Amish country (you can imagine)!!!!
How do you guys keep them clean (What products do you use). Thinking I may have made a mistake in going with the headers.
I ended up using very fine steel wool and soap and water to get most of the stuff off, but still there are some spots that I can't get off!!!
I was very careful not to rub too hard so I did not scratch the finish, but that was the only way I could get the spots off. Any ideas\tips will be appreaciated. (thinking I may need to get some kind of mudflap )
I think no matter what you do, they will dull not as shiny grey at the hotter spots. Mine did, after looking almost like chrome when I got them back from being ceramic coated. the shothat did them said you can use fine steel wool as you did with or without some aluminum polish and it will bring them back some, but bascially, thats the natural progression of the coating.
