? A/C selector stuck on Max A/C
Its a litte cool outside today so I went to change the A/C selector from Max A/C to the heat position, but when I tried to slide the selector it will not move past Max A/C. A/C works, ie fan blows cold air through the vents.
Any ideas why the selector wont move. I'm hoping this is not a vacuum issue

The A/C works fine. The fan blows cold or hot air through the vents depending on the position of the temperature selector.

Based on the assmebly manual, I believe all that I need to do is find a replacement part 14009285 or worse case find a complete A/C control assembly 14020093 and harvest the part that I need.

The same thing happened on mine two weeks ago. The center pin broke and the a/c was stuck to the "on"position. I ordered another one from Wilcox and it arrived last friday.
This is the second unit I have had since October of last year (the last one was from Wilcox as well). I hope this one lasts longer than a year!

If you place this pin or any other plastic pin in the hole, for it to be effective you must collapse the tension spring under the rivet. If you fail to do this then the two halves will not be seated against each other properly. So I did this by sitting the valve on top a small socket and while pushing downward on the two halves! I then used a soldering gun to melt the plastic on top. When cooled it formed a perfect rivet. So any of you got some old inner fender dust flaps laying around.
It worked and we've worked on this same car for year. The customer got a repaired new select switch, but he also got his car for the car show as well.
Also.. on another note for leaking valves..... The halves of this valve do have lubrication on them and it is this same lube that forms the vacuum barrier in the valve. Most failed valves can be repaired by applying a thick lube in one of the vacuum holes.
