Vettes at the Vanderbilt pics
Unfortunately, cloudy, cool and windy weather held back the attendance compared to previous years. But those who braved the elements still made a nice day of it.

Oldest cars in attendance were a couple of 54's

Newest car was a ZR1 sporting an "America Still Builds Rockets" sign

Biggest engine was a 454 in this survivor '71

Smallest engine was this very small small block

The NCRS guys didn't know what to think of this one

Coolest paint was on this 105K mile '05. Painted stripe resembled carbon fiber and painted vents looked like a '63

A nice '67

A Callaway CR-1

Best of Show was a real Baldwin Motion car

While my '73 slept back home in the garage, my supercharged '05, The Silver Devil, took home a 1st Place trophy

Everyone must have gone home with 3 trophies

I stopped going to most of those shows due to the misclarification of what catagory / class they put your car in. It was always a mess Street drivin Stock, vs Restored, vs Concourse...........they never got it right............. one dope wanted to put me in custom class because of my chrome air cleaner & chrome valve covers........

Also hated several of the judges who really have no clue at all what they are talking about or what they are doing.
When a Judge tells you that a 68 didnt have an alarm & even if it did it was supposed to be on the front fender & tore my car apart for things like that which had no bearing on the judging at all, because it's basically a spit & shine show, the one who has the cleanest tail pipes wins type of thing.......... so this judge proceeds to open my door to judge the inside & he cant figure out how to open my doors, I LAUGHED MY AZZ OFF ~ he wasnt familiar with a ( 68 B U T T O N ) I told him not to bother looking at the inside, i'm done, I tore up my judging sheet & just hung out without being judged by know it all / know nothing jerks, cracked open a few beers & enjoyed the tunes, the sun when applicable & enjoyed myself without the stress.........!!!
I was at the Long Island street Rod assoc show at suffolk Community college, huge swap meet & what looked like over 400 cars..........way too cold, way too windy...........really bad weather & bailed around 2pm............
Thanks for taking the time to share the photos !!!!

This was held by Long Island Vettes. I've always found their shows to be first class. Vettes at the Vanderbilt is just a show 'n shine. They're only judging how clean your car is, not originality. It's not the NCRS.

The worst part is, they had no clue what they were doing, or any idea of the intricate details about a 68. If your going to be a loud mouth you had better know what your barking about ........!!!
No anger, just cant stand to be around, loud mouth, know nothing losers .........
Thanks again for taking the time & posting the photos. Always nice to see whats happening on the Island...... !!!

Now thats funny, but par for the course !!!Not too far off from what was going on............how about trying to put me in a custom classification because of my chrome air cleaner & valve covers ????
1 air cleaner lid + 2 valve covers = 3!!!
Now if you had one of those padded armrest covers for the center console we all have for C3's, you would have been thrown out.

I'm sure............ !!!

Were you at the Tanner park show a few weeks ago ?
I might be at the Flowerfield show this Sunday in St. James if it's nice out.......last Sunday was brutal !!

Been there done that & the car & the shows were definatly a part of it !!!
The "NEW" girl loves it and attends most of the shows with me & really enjoys the gathering of people with a hobby in common. She is a trooper..............much better the second time around !!
