then your speedo cable is spinning too fast.. you need to slow it down by replacing the existing driven gear by one with more teeth. 1st find out what you have, pull your speedo cable from the tranny and remove the speedo drivien gear housing. in it should be a plastic gear. count it's teeth and buy a new one with more teeth. .( probably buy 2 or 3.. get one each with 1 more tooth, next with 2, next with 3..) each will drop your speedo by a slight amout. play with it and swap them out until you get real close.
you can get them fairly cheap so buy 3 sizes to play with the calibration.
Can anyone help me, My speedo is off by 20km p/h, I have a M-21 with a 3.70 rear, can some one tell me where and which Speedo Gear I have to purchase
Thank you
Randy
We need to know if it's manual or auto & the rear tire size.
You can also buy a reducer - Speedometer Gear Ratio Adapter, and put it on the cable insert on the trans' - more expensive.

if you look on dr rebuilds site you can see the different toothed gears and their "chart" for determining which gear you need to make the correction. it's a good place to start
