Well, the leaves are dropping and it's gonna start getting cold out, soooo what are you gonna work on this winter? I think I am going to do paint and suspension.

I'm torn between a crate motor or new interior...

The engine still runs pretty good and my interior sucks...

If I do the interior, the major parts will be:
1) C5 seats
2) Carpet
3) Door panels

I can't decide !!!!!

I'm working on a "Non Corvette" project
My 67 El Camino is getting a front end rebuild and converting to Disc brakes. The Corvette will be safe and sound under it's car cover unaware of the surrounding activities.

Default winter projects ...

I bought a set of Fiero seats last winter and have done nothing with them. I think I'll order a set of Mr. Mikes C3 seat covers and install them this winter. I also have new exhaust extensions/tips & bezel sitting in a box - I hope to put them on, as well.

Well, I promised my wife I would install the shoulder belts that she has wanted on the car since I bought it, and I promised it would be the first project when I put the car away. I am getting a minimal squeak from what sounds like the right rear wheel bearing, so I am wondering if it may be time to pull out the trailing arms and send them off for rebuild. But for at least the next month, my main project will be:

well, looks like i'm going to tackle the trailing arms. ones got a bit of play going from 12 to 6. other is perfect, but i remember the original owner saying drivers side done in 89. But being a 38 yo car with 52K miles figures its maintance time. drivers side was done while ta on car. So figure to talk both off and ship to Gary or Bairs. Figure to repaint and possible new liiners in the leaf spring while off as well as repainting the delco shocks.
Should be enoug for this time.

Suspension is about complete, next will be full brake job, and all the stuff behind the dash. Then engine compartment detail, then I hope to complete the paint. My goal is first ride by my birthday in September.

hahahhahah...where do I start?

Ok, since this is a Corvette Forum, I'll start there.

The 1980 Corvette is getting;
rebuilt Diff w/3.55's in it. (already done by JAWS, just need to install it)
rebuilt half shafts and driveshaft (already done, just need to install them)
DS rear Trailing arm rebuilt
alignment from MSI
new front tires

THEN;
new carpet kit with MadVette insulation and HushMat
MadVette sub/amp box
custom 6x9 box
Diamond amp and sub
tinted rear window
Fiero seats (I'm just using the stock seats out of my 1988 Fiero Auto-X car)

Here is the "I hope to get done" pile;
Auto meter Phantom tach and speedo in stock dash and bezel install
700r4 swap w/yank 2800 stall (I have a stall, and the tranny is at a buddies house. Just need to get the X-brace and actually do the install).
tranny cooler
New weatherstripping

Now, I have some other winter projects since these cars don't get driven in the rain.

My Firebird gets;
P/P 241 heads with AFR dual springs (already done, just need installed)
Comp custom grind cam (similar specs to an MS3)
Supporting mods
Koni shocks (the revalved Bilsteins are cuttin it)
Custom tune
Finish N20 conversion (from dry to a wet kit)
I have all of the parts and pieces, I just need to install them all! Where has all of my time gone??????

The Fiero;
custom rear links w/heim joints
Stiffer front springs
rear coil over kit conversion (along with corner weight)
Relocate battery to the front
install other seat (so I can use both the seats for the Vette).
Power pulley install
Another alignment from MSI (need more aggressive camber up front with more toe out in front, more toe in on the rear).

So, there's my winter/X-mas list for the cars! LOL.
The Jeep is a whole nother story....but I won't be doing to much to it now that its winter cause I'll be driving it more for some playing in the snow and going mudding.

Now, for christmas...I want to ask for "TIME"! please...

I actually own a Fiero. That's where I got mine.

If I had to look, though...there are a couple of junkyards in my area that actually have Fiero's there, though that's getting more and more difficult to locate.
otherwise, go to Fiero.com you may be able to put in a "WTB" thread.
Maybe a local Fiero club????

The other seats I'd consider (but never looked into) are a set of C4 seats! I really like the deep buckets of the C4's. I'm not a fan of the C5 seats at ALL!

I am going to replace/restore the console in my '81. The previous owner had glued and screwed some faux wood paneling to the console plastics so I will be replacing what I have to. I am also going to take the gauge lenses off and polish them. Depending on the time and funds I have I would like to get the AC blowing stronger. Fan motor feels like it is dying as it barely pushes any air while on high. The PO has a new compressor, dryer, and lines put on, filled with Freeze-12, but its still not blowing cold. May also try repainting the front nose in early spring.
