Hi I'm a new member to the forum and a new C3 owner. I brought the car home from a long trip to pick it up recently and I need to wash the road off of it. Just wondering if any one can recommend a good soap, and more importantly wax to use. Also if there are any rituals or details you pay special attention to I'd love to hear about it.

Welcome to the forum Drew..........looks like you have a nice '77. I use car wash & best in show wax from Griots garage on all of my cars. It's a mail order joint, and everything they sell is top quality.....

I've used them all over the years. The full line of Zaino products is terrific. Go to the Zaino Brothers website. Once your surface is properly prepared, it's easy to use.
Go to the bottom of this page to "forum jump" and you will see the car care discussion forum. Just click on and get all the info you want and more.
Everyone has their favorite, (4posts and 3 different favorites) . Do you want overthecounter?
IMHO, Meguires Gold Class car wash is the best one (you can get into PH levels on different washes if you want)
Clay bar the car before wax. Clay Magic originally patented the bar in the US and can be bought at AZ, etc. It's blue. There are different colors and different abrasions. Blue is fine. It only removes contaminants and does not shine the car. You will get a spray bottle of lubrication.
Buy a wax that doesnt leave white residue. Meguiars or Mothers waxes are a good choice for overthecounter. You can pay from $15 to thousands on line. Waxes last a few months and sealants last longer but there is a process to application.
Now if you want to get rid of scratches, swirl marks, buffer trails, etc. that is another story.

Wash it with any mild soap...unless you want to strip it, then use detergent. Zaino polish and detailer (no more "wax" for me!). Just use the detailer on microfiber cloths to clean the dust off; wash it only when really necessary.
Another Griots fan here. You can buy their products from Autogeek.com which is a sponsor. They also give 10% forum discount. Congrats on your vette....good luck
