Fiber Optics?
OK... With my front and rear suspension all done, and the car back doen on it's new wheels and tires, the ronly thing stopping me from driving it - is the fact that there is no interior in it.
First step is to fix the rear fiber-optics. I'm going to run 3 new leads.
The original stuff is 1/8 jacketed with about 12-16 strands. The best I could find is 1/8 jacketed with 4 (larger) strands.
Should that be OK? Any better ideas for the bulk cable? (not a kit)

Hi Mike... Same story as everything I found so far.... the 1/8 end-glo is 4 strands.
All the stuff I've found uses 0.75mm single strands. The original stuff used much smaller strands.

You might try Ebay. I have picked up a few fiber optic harnesses from old Cadillacs that used the same size fiber cable and ends. They work excellent to splice and they are so long you can replace the whole cable if needed.
Just checked and this should work to splice. Even has the correct ends for the light mounting side.
At 39$ it might just fit the bill.

Hope this doesn't cross the Ebay posting rule.
If it does the item number is....

Here is another. It is a little pricey though.

Clams, If you can hold a light on one end of the FO cable and see that light on the other end, then it should work fine for what you want to do. The number of strands should not affect the results as long as it only light you want to transmit ( not data).

The finer the strands, the more flexible the cable. That's the only significant difference. Light will pass about the same regardless of the number of strands.
