Default ? for Borgeson converts

OK, I decided to convert my factory manual steering to the Borgeson power steering and have a couple of questions that I couldn't find answered with a search of previous threads.

My current set-up.
I have a ZZ4 motor and have been assured that all the mounting holes in the block are in the same position as a stock small block. Currently, I only have single groove pulleys all around. I realize that a ZZ4 has a long leg water pump, but the water pump pulley is cone shaped and aligns perfectly with a stock harmonic balancer pulley.

1. Can somebody tell me if I add a double groove pulley on the harmonic balancer, will the PS pump's pulley alignment be OK on the forward groove or do I need a different bracket (or pump pulley) that correct for any alignment issues? I would rather not have to locate a different pulley on the water pump or change alternator brackets.

2. looking at the assembly manual, it appears that I can route a belt directly from the HB to the PS pump (without having to go around the water pump). Is this correct?

3. I have Hooker headers. Any comment on the fit?

4. Any issues with getting everything properly centered? I'll get an alignment when I'm done.

I am buying: Steering box, pump, hoses, new rag joint, pulley for the pump, double groove pulley for the HB. Am I missing anything?

I did this swap last year, one of the best upgrades I've made to my 68
To answer your ??'s

1. I am running a double-groove on the balancer and a cast iron pulley on the pump with no issues. The pulleys are off another Vette

2. Yes

3. I am running Hooker Comps, they clear the steering box fine, but you'll need to remove the driver side header to get the box in

4. I had no problems getting things centered as my 68 was set up for power to begin with, but since you're going from a manual to power, you'll need to move the tie rods to the other mounting holes in the spindles, and adjust your tie rods accordingly. AIM should show this

Thanks. Is the PS belt on the forward groove? Did you use the brackets that came with the Borgeson kit, unmodified?

I figured I'd leave the tie rod ends for now and see how I like it, but I guess its not a big deal to move them. I'm kind of worried about making sure that the gear in the box is perfectly centered and that the rag joint is put on in the correct groove. With 48 grooves, each groove is only 7.5 degrees. I guess I can eyeball that? Also, although it drives straight, the steering wheel is currently about 10 degrees to the left with no pull. Should I correct this now? The new box has 2.7 revolutions, lock to lock. What I (obviously) don't want is 1.4 one way and 1.3 the other....or is it going to be obvious if I screwed it up? Each groove on the cloumn is only 0.02 revolutions.

One other thing. Did use use a rag joint or u-joint? Borgeson says I will feel the fluid pressure changes through the u-joint.

Yep, forward groove. I didn't buy the pump from Borgeson, I got an AGR from Summit and used stock mount brackets.

A good alignment shop will center the steering wheel, but make sure it's a shop that knows C3's. Look in the regional section for your part of the country and ask the members what shop they use

I'm using the rag joint, mainly to go for the "factory installed" look
