Everytime Kevin orders a part ...

Will that bolt up to the stock bellhousing?
will it use the same design clutch?
What about the slip joint, will it accept the stock u-joint?
Does the driveshaft length have to be changed
Would the floorboard have to be cut to accommodate the shifter?
Nope (fab an adapter plate)
Nope (Chevy pressure plate, Ford disc. Works great)
Nope (use the provided tailshaft)
Yup (order a custom driveshaft)
Don't recall if I had to modify the shifter opening. I think I did.

Or spend $3k and get a Keisler kit that's much more of a bolt-in

Have a great day.

Thinking of spending money, that reminds me that the registrations are out on my c6 and the Wrangler.
It's always something!!!

As for the stickers, I need to start driving the c6...she was dead when Kevin tried to move her earlier this week, and I need her legal to drive her, of course!

Did Matth3w whine and have that thread boneyarded? For the record, I've never blue taped my entire front end, even at the track. But I'm not nearly so picky as some folks, obviously!

Glad to see you still have it, and modifying it.I'm in the middle of a brake redo. Missed two Eastern Tennessee Fall cruises.

Good luck with the Tranny.

Surely I can keep SOMETHING running!
Kevin took the transmission totally apart yesterday. He decided on a full rebuild. And now he's talking replacing engine gaskets to get rid of some leaks while he's at it.

It's hard to say why the reverse was stuck since the reverse selector finally moved while I was
ing on it to get the tail housing off. There is a lot of wear in the reverse shift fork and some corrosion on the boss that rides inside the reverse lever. Other than that it looks pretty good.
The gears all look good, but the synchronizers are all pretty worn, and there is significant wear on the 1-2, 3-4 sliders, along with a pretty good buildup of sludge in the bottom of the case.
I ordered the Super rebuild kit for it (all new bearings, syncros, gaskets, 1-2, 3-4 sliders, countergear shaft, 1-2. 3-4 shift forks, and gaskets), and a new reverse shift fork.
The muncie should be like new when I am done, and with the new shifter it should shift just like it did from the factory.
I also ordered new o-ring calipers for it today too.
Liz said when she bought Hooters that the brakes were really hard, so she had power brakes installed. I don't know who did the work, but I think all they did was install a booster and call it good.
The brakes on that poor car are pathetic. You have to stand on the pedal to get it to stop, even with power brakes.
I'm sure the calipers and brake lines were bad when she bought it 8 years ago, and have only gotten worse over time.

Hooter should be a lot more fun to drive in a couple of weeks.

I'll let you know how the quality looks when it gets here.
