Default car dolly

Has anyone trailered a c3 before? Thinking of taking my 78 from Boston to Blue Ridge Parkway. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Andy

Used a friend's trailer to go to Epping NH with my 78. Notice the wood under the tires? this got the car high enough so that the doors would open. Cleared by about 1/4 inch.

Here is my 73 parts car/future project when I brought it home. Just watch what you hook your straps or chains to so you don't bend or break anything and check them regularly to make sure they stay tight.

Not the one I had I guess U-haul may use a couple of different types of trailers. Wish I would have thought about putting down a couple of boards like Karol, I had one heck of a time getting in and out!

Shop around on Cl and you may find a tow dolly for less than you could rent a trailer for.....

Thanks for all of your posts. Has anyone used a car dolly? I have access at no charge. I have never had trouble pulling something with a wheel lift towtruck.. Just curious. Thanks, Andy

I guess that would depend on the area that you live in. Around hear they go for $500-900 used. They seem to be popular because you don't need to buy a license plate for it.

IMHO you would have to be nuts to want to use a car dolly for a C3 Corvette. Driveshaft needs to be disconnected from the rear end when using a tow dolly and I don't know about you, but that is not a job I am overly fond of.

Uhaul is the way to go. I would not use the tow dolly on a Vette. I've heard some horror stories about cars coming off of those.
