according to my book the FB is a 69 big chevy ( impalla, belair, biscayne) 327 235 powerglide. the partial vin provided does not make sense to me, but the only body style ending with a 1 is a 2 door sedan built in the J code plant for janesville where they made big chevys.
so it is a 1969 327 235 hp originally in a 69 big chevy built in janesville. the engine was assembled in flint sept 10th. could be assembled in sept 10, 68 for a early 69 model year, or sept 10th, 69 for a late 69 model year. what is the cast date code on the back of the engine? don't know when they started and ended the 69 model year for big chevys?

Joe,
If I recheck the numbers on the block I've got in the garage would you check your book for me?
I checked it out years ago and my memory isn't what it used to be.
it is easy to look up, just provide engine block casting number, casting date code, and the complete stamp on the front pad, several on this forum could probable tell you what it is.. I get most of my info from colvin's 'chevrolet by the numbers' book
