I am reinstalling my emergency brake mechanism. The cable doesn't seem to want to seat the way I think it should. Shouldn't it seat so the top lip on the end of the cable is seated against the clevis?
Here's a picture of the way it's seated now. Doesn't seem right but no amount of persuasion so far has been able to get it seated any better.
BB should be OK as it is. When you start to tighten it up (the cable) watch it close and see where it seats. I think mine did the same it was awhile ago but you should be fine. again my 2 cents worth. Thanks

I think that looks right. btw: worst job to do so far was the parking brake rebuild. very frustrating replacing the shoes.
Thanks all. I probably should have taken a picture before I removed the cable. Sure looked like it should have seated further. When I reinstalled the throw on the handle felt about right which suggested it was installed correctly but looked strange.
All cables stretch a bit with use. Nature of the beast. If you pull it up way tight first, then back it off it'll reduce the amount of stretch and also help seat the ball.
FWIW: the same with aircraft control cables- install, tension 10% over spec, let it set for a few minutes, and the reset tension to spec.
