That's a good suggestion! Years ago while living in Colorado, I had a customized '68 (which had the headlights mounted in the grills). During the daylight one day, I had a state trooper pull me over and give me a ticket for having the lights mounted 12" from the ground. Colorado state motor vehicle law required a minimum of 24 ". They gave me 30 days to correct it or else my vehicle registration would be canceled. What a pain that was to deal with.

I placed cardboard covered with aluminum foil (so the cardboard could be easily removed) on the underside then used fiberglass mat and resin the build in up.

Thanks Mjolitor. Here are some quick pics from last night, should give you an idea. My lawn drops down away from the driveway which is why you can't see the grass, that and the fact the my car is off when pics were taken









I haven't checked the alignment yet either, just dropped them in
