Hi 71w,
Noonie put you on the right track with the aircraft info.
The color of the primer varied as production went on. 2 colors are available from various vendors but don't have the zinc chromate in them because of the epa.
Regards,
Alan
I had this paint for my 71 mixed from a sample by my local automotive paint supplier.
Go with a self-etching primer. It has the same color and DEFINITELY prevents rust way more than other primers. You can buy it in a spray can by Dupli-Color at NAPA #EDAP1690. Listen, Dupli-Color is owned by Sherwin Williams, who by the way produces the Martin-Senour paint NAPA sells ...and their own line of automotive paint. I used to buy the self-etching primer in a qt with activator, which was Very expensive. Now you can get it in an aerosol can and it is a very convenient and inexpensive way to have it around the shop for misc parts, etc. I've been using it for 6-8 years and it works great. It has the same color as the above. Good luck,
