I enjoyed reading your story and very interesting. Not many of us know the history of our cars past the last few years.
Interesting he had it repainted Laguna Grey. Was it originally Steel Cities Grey?

Excellent story and thanx for sharing! A close friend of mine who currently lives in Kettering OH came back to Ft Polk, LA from leave in the early 80's with a cassette tape telling me I had to listen to it. It was a McGuffey Lane "tape" that he said was one of his friends band. Don't know which member he knew/knows but will look into it now.
Oh, and keeping within the good graces of the forum, Beautiful Vette!
Well my '69 was owned by my neighbor's ex-wife's sister and she was famous also. I even have one of her mug shots. Might have her autograph it someday when she gets paroled.
I would call that a low threshold for celebrity status.
Huh, me too. I mean, I don't exactly go around yammering about the immense contributions I made to the New Eagle Elementary School Orchestra from 1974-1976, but I expect everyone to know who I am because of it!
More seriously, I agree that the word "celebrity" is a little strong in this case, but IMO, it is cool to have someone "of note" in the ownership history of your classic car.
I once looked at a '69 El Camino that was for sale. The owner claimed it was originally owned by James Garner. I ask him if he had any documentation for that (not that it would have made a damn to me) and he said no, but the previous owner had told him that.
I would not have bought it anyway....he was asking a price waaay above it's worth.
