Default Rear Storage compartment hardware help

I just received my new 3 door rear storage compartment, latches, retainers, and escutcheons. I threw the old one out as it was in horrible shape and I am not sure about how to install the hardware I listed above. Do any of you have any pics of how the latches, retainers, and escutcheons are installed and if so, would you post them?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the pics gentlemen. It helped out tremendously. What size screws are used to hold the latch retainers on Alan?

Hi T,
I'm not very good about screw sizes.
It's a fine machine thread; perhaps 3/32" or 1/8"?!?
Regards,
Alan

In my next life I will have a gauge!

How many wires are connected to the glove box switch? I only have one on my unit but see two wires that are not connected to anything in the rear compartment.

Dembo,

What size hole did you drill in order to mount the glove box switch? The new frame I got in doesn't have it precut or marked in any way.

Hey T,
Sorry for the metric dimensions, but I started out with a diameter 13.5mm hole and then filed away to get it in. I also untaped it to get it in (so in short I took the switch apart) and retaped it when it was in. Maybe someone else could shime in as I don't think this is the right way.
There should be two wires on the switch one black and one black with orange (or is it red)tracer and two wires coming from the rear harness, one black and one orange (or is it red too lol)

Mine didn't have tape on it to begin with.

Timd02, Order the assembly instruction manual (AIM) for your year; it will help. The AIM has diagrams of the complete factory rear compartment installation; doors, hinges, frames; lock buttons, pull loops, glove box, and the glove box lamp.

for the glove box switch i used a 1/2 hole saw...used a piece of wood first, worked perfect...the 7/8 hole saw is used for electrical knockouts is too big...the 1/2 is used for drilling the magnets into door bucks for alarm systems...
