Default 72 wiper pump

is there any way to test the water pump section without running the wipers on a dry windscreen?
can the 4 screws be removed from the cover to check the rubber valve?
the wipers work fine but just need to test the pump part.
anyway of priming the system?
any one have any photo's of how the tubes run up the arms and terminate at the blades?
thanks

Hi rr,
I'd think you could disconnect the wiper drive arms at the wiper motor shaft that protrudes through the firewall into the wiper bay. The motor and pump would operate but the wipers wouldn't move. One nut.
Here are some pictures from my 71's arms/tubes.
Regards,
Alan
