Default C3 question:

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knew which model year of the C3 had the lightest curb weight. I checked how-it-works and they say that it's the '69 model, but I was wondering if anyone knew a site or knows personally if this is right or not.

Just wondering because I'd like to get a C3 and swap out the engine and transmission for an LS2/T56 combo. Does that yield any reduction in weight compared with the stock engines/transmissions in these cars?

the ls2 motor is lighter than the stock 350.if you are looking for a c3 to hot rod or to make big changes to ,you will save a lot of money if you find a car that needs a lot of work .most c3s from 68-73 cost a lot even if they need alot .i would look at 74-82.in 82 they had thinner glass and had light weight rear spring .

My .02:

68-74. Specifically because they have true Dual Exhaust! I don't like fooling with catalytic converters (and simulated dual exhaust) ...
