Default Valve Covers: any difference?

Is there any difference between the tall and short, other then hight? Would it matter to place a tall one in place of a short?

Just watch clearance for your accessories. They may get in the way of your alternator and A/C compressor.

You will greatly reduce the alternator adjustment and will have to shorten the pcv air intake tube.
Unless you need them for rocker arm clearance, I wouldn't

I went with taller ones on my 74 with A/C. I had some issues tightening the alternator and had to rework the mounting brackets for the A/C. I also had to put the belt on the A/C unit before I could bolt up the brackets. Works fine just a little extra work getting it all together.

I have some tall M/T finned covers that look great but basically allow no adjustment for the AC compressor belt. The Alternator needed a 2 inch longer belt and the AC belt isn't being used.

Get shorter covers if you can but any SBC cover should work.

The ones I found I could not get in short (at least have not found them yet) So that's why I asked. I have the pan style A/C. and I don't see a problem with it IF I were to go tall. The drivers side, I have to look again. But I think it was all clear. Thanks...
