I ordered mine too and received confirmation that it's been mailed. Can't wait to find out which dealer mine came from too. I'll post later!
Great that you've found this info....an early Christmas present!
Yes this is also how I see it.
I really hope that the dealer will take time and see if they can find some info for me.
But as it is now, after 3 mails, I have no reply. But I hope they will.....
I bought my 1974 Stingray at Malcolm Konner in June of 1974 and it arrived in Oct. I picked it up on October 10th, and left behind my 1974 Z28 as a down payment. I bought it from a salesman named Robert Wasserman. I still have the Vette which now has 50,0025 miles on it. It will be getting it's first new paint job soon, as a huge tree crushed my garage out here in Los Angeles and lightly damaged the car.
The car was in storage from 1979 until 2005 when I restored and repaired the things that go bad from storage, and drove it from New York state to my home in CA. The new paint job is costing 12,500, and is being done by Brian Petrie who does all the glass and paint for famed Corvette guy Dick Guldstrand. Dick hooked me up with him. It will be done in it's original color of Corvette Dark Brown Metallic.
There were a ton of used Vettes at MK when I went looking for a new one. They had no new ones in stock because of a GM strike, but they had 53 coming in even though the model year was almost over. Bob tossed a stack of invoices across his desk and told me to pick out the one I wanted. Mine is a 350 4-speed with just about every option. It is still completely stock as delivered. I still have the tempory paper license plate from Malcolm Konner.
Gary Konner(Malcolms son), is a client of mine. A few years back he took me to see his rather impressive collection of vette. (posted some pics here).Gave me some plate frames and a Article from the commerce department.Gets into the Paramus- Caldwell conection. Sent it to NCRS for an article in the restorer and for some reason never heard.
Great history from the largest vette dealer there was back them for many many years. I get up in the Caldwell area. Let me know if you need a hand.
We bought a new '86 from Konner in West Caldwell from Dean Konner, who I believe is Malcolm's son, and is probably still in charge there. They used to have a show every year too but it's been a while. They know Vettes very well.
