Default NCRS report

I just got the NCRS report of my car.
In the report I can see, that the dealer is Konner Chevrolet in NJ. And he is still around :-)
So now my BIG hope is, that Konner will take the time to help me getting some information about my car. And when I don't have a tank sticker in my car, then I fell like I have a second chance

Post some specific information about your car here. Maybe someone might remember it. There's a lot of Vette folks in NJ.

Sales text and pictures from US dealer

1969 Corvette Convertible survivor car, 350/350 hp matching numbers, 92,500 original miles, 4 speed. Options include Power Brakes and Speed Warning Indicator, Original Riverside Gold (paint code 980) with black interior and black convertible top. Very nice original unmolested body and I belive the paint is original and needs to be redone. Interior looks to be original and in very nice condition. The convertible top should be replaced. The frame is solid, no rot or holes. Headlight and windshield wiper tray work beautifull. The car recently recevied new ball joints, polyurethane bushings, rebuilt transmission, both front and rear chrome bumper were redone. The car runs out awsome. Drive while restore.

I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 6-18-2007 IN NJ

Last owner before me was:

I purchased my first new car from that dealership...a 1968 Camaro. I wanted a corvette but that was the best I could do at the time.

The dealership is now called Paramus Auto Mall and is owned by the Meyers family. The owner Gene Meyer passed away in July of this year. He was great guy...sponsered a corvette show at the dealership every year. They still have a corvette only showroom on the second floor. I would try contacting Gene's son Stephen (owner of Hawthorne Chevrolet) who might be able to put you in touch with the Konner family who I believe still have a collection of corvettes.

Hi gq,
I bought my first car, a 55 BelAir convertible, from Hawthorne Chevrolet in 1962. I remember the car and the dealership very well.
Regards,
Alan

Was the delivering dealer Konner Chevrolet in West Caldwell (the one in your link) or Malcolm Konner Chevrolet, in Paramus, NJ?

Malcolm Konner is now Paramus Auto Mall, as gg82 noted. Malcolm Konner was well known in the Corvette world. Back in the late 60's and early 70's, they advertised in Car & Driver, and other publications. They called themselves the "New Jersey's Headquarters for Corvettes". They dealt heavily in Corvettes and other Chevrolet muscle cars. I think they sold hi-performance parts, modified cars and were a dealer for Yenko Supercars too. In the 80's. they sold a series of specially modified Corvettes, the "Malcolm Konner Commerative Edition" Corvette. There were a couple salesman that just specilized in the Corvette and performance cars. The owner, Malcolm Konner, passed away years ago. I believe he had at least one son and daughter, who were in the auto business. The son may have been Gary, but I'm not completely sure.

I don't know if there is any relationship between the Konner Chevrolet and Malcolm Konner Chevrolet.

I'll try to see if I have any old magazines with the Malcolm Konner ads in them. If I can find one, I'll post it here later.

Question on the door jamb, is it missing the latch support that convertibles should have? Not being a PITA, just trying to help.

Nice car, hope you can find some history, best of luck.

Hi DRC,
I believe 69 cars just had a rub strip and wedge on the rear of the door and on the jamb.
Starting in 70 there was a much more serious 'guide' and 'receiver'.
Perhaps that's what you're thinking about.
Regards,
Alan
