Hey Guys and girls I have a question for all you specialist here on the forum. I need to know the horsepower ratings of a Target Master 350 crate engine. Are these good engines? Also, what can I do to safely gain more horsepower? Thanks in advance, Roberto

Without any specifics, the Target Master 350 is an ideal drop-in replacement small block for a C3. (But for the nearly the same money, you can get a 383 stroker.)

Libraries have been written on getting HP out of the small block Chevy.

In the old days when they were about 700 dollars, we'd install them and change the camshaft, go with a cheap alum. intake and carb...

But we'd also be covered by the three year GM warranty... (as long as we didn't spill the beans on the camshaft change).

I don't remember the horsepower rating on them, but over the years they have proven to be a very dependable replacement for a daily driver.

Call your Target Master dealer. These probably come in two or three horsepower configurations.
