Anyone ever have this problem. On my 72
Havent driven the car in a month. Went to start today and the pedal would'nt move. i opened hood. tried moving the carb by hand still wouldnt move. I took off the throttle cable and the carb worked fine but the pedal still didnt move. Seems to be stuck at the pedal. Carpet not binding it. Now looking at the AIM i see the pedal rod has a protrusion the fits in a slot in the pedal support. Could this wear away. I did step hard on pedal and it dislodged. I will take apart the pedal support tomorrow and see if the plastic piece is ok.
Who know's for sure, but probably time for a new throttle cable, as maybe frayed internally. Good thing this didn't happen when driving. Did for my uncle year's ago when driving his daily Ford. Released the gas and kept going, then kicked it and got stuck to floor. Thing's kinda got going fast, so he shut it off, back fired and blew a big hole in the muffler. Guess it could've been worse.
Yes, mine stuck (71'). I had removed the floor mat for cleaning which left the carpet and sewn in rubber mat right below the gas pedal. When I pushed the pedal to the floor, the rubber pedal got wedged on the top edge of the sewn in rubber mat. If you don't have a mat, you might look for this condition.

Your pedal would not go down when you pushed down on it. My 70 did the same thing. What I found was at the carb, there is a sleeve that was keeping the cable from sliding. There is a plastic sleeve that goes over the end of the cable. This plastic sleeve was slid too far back and was hitting the end of the cable jacket and binding. Look closely at the end at the carb and see if that is where your binding is happening. I wound up removing the stock cable and going with a Lokar setup.
