Removed my entire interior in my 76 to dye all the panels and dash black. Noticed most of the screws aren't worth reusing and are in pretty bag shape. Looking for a good reliable set that covers the entire interior, labeled with where they go would be a huge help. Looked online and in most catalogs, just not sure whats a safe bet. Trying to stay away from the Ebay specials unless anyone out there has had success with them. Any links to websites or names of a company where I can get a good set would be much appreciated. Thanks
I got my set from Zip, overall I was pretty happy. Most of the individual screw bags were labeled correctly. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the major vendors.
I bought ZIP also. I also cruised through the other vendors and bought their stuff also, even if it appeared redundant. Re-installing a Corvette interior is among the worst jobs. Worst because it's difficult to get everything to fit and look like it came from the factory. Even for my C3 interiors, I bought C2 interior screw sets just in case.
Remove and install an engine and transmission, remove the rear suspension and reinstall, it all relatively easy.
Remove the interior of a Corvette and reinstall.........it's difficult and if you've got some repro stuff to try to fit in it becomes very difficult. One of the problems about working with the original interior is that the plastic substrates, over the ages, have hardened to the nature of glass. My experience...everytime you remove and replace an original C3 interior, you will damage something no matter how careful you are. When removing and replacing, you just hope that the damage is minimal.
