Default Where do these washers go?

I removed two of them from the car, early on, during the rear suspension rebuild. I never could find where they belong. I only remember that they came from this general area. 1 7/16" outside dia. with a 1/2" hole and about 1/16" thick. They have witness marks where a lock washer was. A 1/2" bolt will fit through perfectly. I repainted them with cast blast along with several other fasteners. Thanks, mike...

Maybe a substitute for these, top and bottom each side, but these are approx 1/8" thick.

Happy New Year

Hi Mike,
I don't see them?!

The only clue I see is the tell-tail mark of a split lock washer.
The confusing thing is that there are 2.
I first thought of the bolts that hold the rear differential cross-member to the frame. They use a split lock washer BUT no flat washer.
Then I thought of the bracket for the rear strut rods. It uses a bolt, split lock washer, and flat washer BUT there are 4 of them.
After a while I'll take a look under the car.
Regards,
Alan

PS: Are they flat? They look to have a more intricate shape than the common flat washer.
PSS: Any chance they're from the trailing arm to frame connection?

Thanks to everyone. I was hoping they were going to be easily identified. It is poss., that in a beer induced frenzy of disassembly, I got them mixed up with something else.:o They are flat and pretty thin. Car has been back together for a few months now and nothing has fallen off. I guess for a total rear suspension rebuild, having only two washers left over is not too bad. I will put them in the Vette parts drawer and not worry about them anymore. Thanks again to everybody and Happy New year. mike...

I know you said you think these were from the rear somewhere, but by the picture they look to be the spacers used on the door stricker. HAPPY NEW YEARS!!

It seems like everyone is looking for something that is on both sides. Could they be from the top and bottom of the snubber bushing bolt?

Hi m76,
I wondered about that too.
The AIM shows 2 split lock washers being used, but only 1 flat washer. I guess it's certainly possible that St. Louis was using 2 flat wasers.
Still curious! I like to know where stuff goes!
Regards,
Alan

I checked and there is only one washer there. The diameter is 2". The hunt continues....
