Default help

hello everybody.
i'm writing from Italy,my name's briz
I 've C3 1968 conv. white.
I would know if some of you can help me to find a wiring harness for the start ignition.
my vette, doesn't climb original ignition switch key near the tachometer, but it's mount at base of Column, and now I'd change the position of the switch, but the connectors are different ( from '68 to up),so i must to cut the wires on to the old switch, mount at the base of Column, and to attach the news but I don't know how, because I don't know the right position of the wiring harness.
help me guys....
thank 's in advance.

Those numbers refer to the guage of the wires. The lower the number the larger the wire.

Hi guy...
today I tested the new sequence of the wires for the new switch ignition.
all ok..
very good, the vette start, but now I 've a new problem:
how can I remove the block for the steering wheel and gear lever in automatic transmission?because before remove the old start ignition switch, the key provided also to release the gear level and steering wheel when I turn on the key, but now, inside the steering column ther is something that stop the gear level ans steering wheel agan.
i don't want use my vette with 2 keys....one for the start ignition and one for unlock the gear level and for the steering wheel...
thank's
briz

It sounds like you have a 69 style steering wheel with the ignition key and column lock on the steering wheel. But you have moved the ignition key/switch to the correct 68 spot on the dash, is that right? So now you have 2 places for the ignition key, one on the dash to start the 68, but you still have the key hole on the column and you need to use that to unlock the steering column and get the automatic trans out of park? Oy veh!!

Ultimately it would be nice if you replaced the steering column with a 68 steering column without the extra hardware. Short term maybe somebody will have a suggestion.

68 steering column does not lock. That was an anti-theft device introduced in the 69 model year, and they moved the ignition switch from the dash to the steering column. I am not sure what lockouts are on a 68 automatic transmission, but I don't think the ignition switch has any effect.
