Update on my Vette
Hi All,
The gentleman who is buying my Vette is having the rear rebuilt as well as new front springs, and an A/C system installed. Corvettes of Westchester (COW) is doing the work and here's a few pics so far. They just got the rear out so nothing has been rebuilt yet.
I'm updating the buyer with pics for his records and for you guys to see how it's going.

The T/A pockets are pretty clean.
They also had a LS-7 block they are rebuilding. Don't see many of these! It had been decked, so no numbers on the pad.

One thing I noticed was no rust in the frame kick ups. While it's apart maybe the new owner should go ahead and change out the brake lines and universals?
Great documentation but are you having second thoughts of selling it?

I'll always have second thoughts about selling it, but my house project has started and the money from the vette will go towards the new kitchen cabinets. I'm sad to sell it, but it's going to a good home. The new owner is a real car guy and has owned a few vettes.
I will get another 70 down the road.

The T/A's had some cracks and rear bearings haven't been touched in 40 years. The new owner is planning to drive it to Atlanta from New York, and I strongly recommended he have this work done before the trip.

Yes, gut the kitchen, then kitchen cabinets, family room addition, & college if need be. At this point, my wife's income covers our daughters tuition. When I first put the vett up for sale, we thought some of the money would be needed for tuition. Man, you guys are harsh!
The kitchen should have been demolished 17 years ago when we bought the house. We were going to do it 2001, then 911, and the economy tanked, got layed off 3 times in 4 years, and had to put off the house renovations. Bought the vette, had fun for the last 4 years. Now it's my wife's turn.

We both are sad to see the vette go. She knows how much enjoyment I get from it, but for now the priorities have changed.

If you look at my comments on page 11 of the for sale thread, you'll see what I said;
"The main reason for the sale is for a kitchen and addition project.
I figure after the project is completed, there won't be any extra cash for a new toy, especially with a daughter who's a sophomore at NYU, and my son who might graduate early this year and start some college classes next year. Unless I win the lottery, inherit a nice chunk of change, the next vette will come after my son is done with college. As things progress with the house and we can swing it, the vette may stay, but at this point it would help to sell it."
