Default painted ralleys

With everyone putting after market wheels on their cars I feel out of place putting the stock ralleys back on mine but I got to thinking about something... does anyone still paint their ralleys to match the car color like they did back in the day? Or even black? Just something different, I ask because I have never seen a painted set on a Corvette before, only on old muscle cars.

Several years ago I painted my rally wheels the same color as the car (red) and I thought it looked pretty good. With the trim rings and center caps the colored rims were not overpowering at all. I had seen this style at several vette shows and rallies and in regards to my car, all comments were positive. It's your car, do what you like! I now have polished aluminum wheels but still like the painted look.

I have always liked that look, and will probably do that to my wheels sometime in the future.

There are several members here with painted ralleys.
They look great, but not my personal taste.

Does anyone have any pictures of their Corvette with the wheels painted? I've never seen painted ralleys on a Corvette before and would like to see how it looks.

Default My Painted Ralleys

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-g...first-mod.html

On New Year's Eve I took off the painted ralleys that were on the car I bought on Christmas Eve. The link is to the post I made that day called My First Mod. It shows my car before and after.

Hi,
I painted the rally wheels black in 1971. I think it makes the wheel look very deep.
Regards,
Alan

Another set of 'Black that was Silver and now back to Silver. The Black seemed to be different then however the Silver seems more appropriate today
