The plastic under the dash that one screws the upper portion of the windshield wiper control bezel into is worn out - badly cross threaded. I don't believe I can simply put in a larger screw without breaking it. Does anyone know of a product that would allow me to plug the hole and then drill into it? I was considering JB Weld but thought that it would be harder than than plastic and possibly make drilling more difficult.
Hi bv,
Another suggestion.
I've had some luck using very small plastic dry-wall anchors from the hardware store. They're often used to hold the fastener for hanging a picture. They come in various sizes. Find one that's a snug fit in the stripped hole and then the screw enlarges it just enough to hold it in place.
