Default 1974 Leather Interior

My 74 has leather seats and the little strip of carpet across the bottom of the doors. I believe this was considered to be a deluxe interior? My question is - are the seats the only thing in the interior that are actually leather? I've only had the car a short time and I want to clean and condition the interior. Any suggestions on products to use? Thanks a million!

Actually, only the seating area of the seats was leather. The sides and seat backs, were vinyl. The door panels, dash, etc. were vinyl, also.

Besides the leather seat covers and carpet on the lower part of the door panels, the Custom interior also included the wood grain trim on the upper door panel and shift console, and plush instead of loop carpet.

There is a "trim tag" located on the drivers side door jam, in the cowl area. The tag has a Trim code on it that will indicate whether the car originally came with standard or Custom interior trim. Post the numbers found next to "trim" on the tag, and someone on the Forum will decode it for you.

Thank you so much.

It does have the custom interior - wood accents on doors and around the shifter console. The code is 416 - leather saddle. They did a good job of making things look like leather - down to the stitching. I just went and looked and I can see where as you said only the seating surfaces are leather.

Does anyone have favorite products they like to use to clean and then protect their interior? I have a leather conditioner I like, but I mean for the rest of the interior.

Thanks again!

Use a polymer protectant for vinyl surfaces...not a petroleum-based product . Nu-Vinyl or Meguair's polymer protectant are good products. You must clean all the Armor-All cr@p off before applying it.

The only part of the leather seat that is leather would be the center section of each cover. The side skirts are vinyl. This started in 1970 and continued until 1982.
