Default bought a C5

Earlier I posted a thread that I was thinking about getting one of these. It was a 99 with 115K miles. The basic answer was dont do it there are a lot of lower mileage ones out there.

I am very glad I took that advice.

2000, 6spd,
35K miles
out the door for 18K

interior is perfect, paint is perfect.
I wonder how it will run compared to the 454HO in my 72.

I had a 2000 with a 6sp until a few months ago. You'll love it. It's not a C3 but it sure is comfortable and gets great gas mileage to go along with decent power. I miss mine but it was my DD and I needed a truck. Yours isn't even broke in good yet. Have fun.

Now the hard part is going to be old upgrade part or new upgrade part.
On the 72 I have full brake system rebuild parts from hydroboost to new calipers and parking brake stuff, front wheel bearings, sidepipes, and YJ8 wheels to install so I think I am going to be busy with that for a while but now I need to look into a column lock bypass, skip shift eliminator, remote clutch bleeder, vavaram intake, diablo tuner, and another set of headers and pipes.
Oh it will never stop. Im glad the old Mustang is finished.

I am jealous! You got a great deal. Of course you know that any additional money spent on mods will be, well.. money spent, as in, used up, gone, never to be seen again.

Man you got a sweet deal... I only see one small problem! There's a FORD sitting to close to it... I know there's not much metal in the C5 but i'd watch out the RUST from that Mustang might jump over on your new baby... LOL

That looks nice. I am also starting to look at C5s for later this year. Maybe after my tax return.

Its a good thing you waited. Picking up this low mileage Vette should make that decision well worth it.

A very pretty car! Are you not concerned about the lack of electronic spare parts? GM has discontinued many.

Paul, you have excellent taste which is just another way of saying we have the same taste, I have seen horror stories on the C5 electronics
in the C5 section but I'll bet you'll be fine. That car is sweeeeet and I'M jealous. C5's are my second favorite!

I have been thinking about a C5 but....lack of spares? That can disable a car. With a C3 that is not a problem.

My C3 doesnt have a spare either.

C5s have run flats. C3 has AAA.

Enjoy that car. I wish that I had one. I was not being critical on your purchase, just noting that some spares for the C5 are in short supply. Have fun this summer!
