I bought my 68 coupe four years ago from a CF member. I really love the car and have enjoyed doing all the work I’ve done to it since then. I’ve learned a LOT about C3s while cruising the CF site and working on the 68. I still have more things I want to do to the car, BUT……. …...
Now that I am so much more informed about the C3s I would like to get back into the hunt for another car and the excitement and rush of the hunt. Of course I would have to sell the present car but that would be okay too. Also, after the past four years I am more knowledgeable about exactly what I want/need in a car.
Just rambling a little here and wondering if anyone else feels this way about the hunt, or am I just a little
I also enjoyed the hunt for a new vette. By not having to purchase one right away I was able to pass on quite a few vettes until the "one" came along. Now that I bought it I can look back and see either how bad the others were, or that I would have not been as excited as getting the one I have now. By waiting I was able to get a 1975 L82 with all all power and a great paint job for less than some of the basket cases that I had to go and look at.
If you go out looking for one and dont really need to buy one, you can then be more realistic in what you are looking for.
My favorite part is hearing about, finding it's location, hunting down the owner, negotiating, and dragging home a new project. I have 4 "barn find" Corvettes and 10-15 other makes of vehicles including H-D's. Finding them like that is EXCITING!
I feel that with the knowledge gained I would know a good one if I saw it, but I still like the one I have a lot. If I had a bigger garage it would be a totally different story. It is much easier to buy than to sell.
This is the way it should be.. start out with one and learn for a few years and you are able to really go out and find the exact one you want and you really know what to look for.
I started out with one with the intent to buy it and immediately get into a restore project. Well, after a couple of years and too many beautiful days "not to have a drivable Vette," that's when I "started the hunt" as you say. Now I have one in in pieces and one that I drive (purchased from a forum member). The roles with the Vettes will eventually reverse and then back to bikes. They take less time

Very well put. My feelings exactly. My problem will be selling mine because of my location. But I guess I can try.

Thanx to everyone for your replies.

PS 68 coupe for sale
Sell it on ebay and take lots & lots of pictures with a straight up description of the good, bad, and ugly! Buyers will come out of the woodwork for the right, fair market price!!! Good luck!!
I've always enjoyed the hunt.
Loved the road trips!
My problem was not letting go of the old one
Exactly where I am at right now, after a 4 year search I found the 68 coupe I was looking for so both a real nice low mile 96 roadster and a driver quality 73 coupe will be going up for sale, simply no room for 3, it's going to be tough.
