Automatic or Standard rear axle code (1980 C3)
I am about to buy a used differential from someone 160+ miles away and the person doesn't know if the differential came from a car with an automatic or manual transmission. After looking up axle codes for the 80 Corvette, I came up with 2 numbers with both the same gear ration of 3:07 and an axle code of either "OF" or "OH". The information doesn't specify which code denotes automatic or manual.
My question is which code denotes automatic and which code denotes the rear differential was for a manual transmission?
Any help would be appreciated before making a wasted trip. Thanks ...
