yea going for new paint job. just need info as what type of body repair is needed. reglass or some type of filler don't want to show up in new paint. all paint will be stripped
I know nothing about paint so am probably not the person to be giving advice but I feel like my chipping has to do with the poor prep the PO did painting over the original coat.
So i doubt much in the way of body work needs to be done to fix the issue...just better prep of the surface to allow the paint to stick...???
In my non-professional opinion, you won't know if you need any glass work until you can actually get all of that old paint off the car and can see what is going on under the paint. In the area that you show in the first pic, it looks like it is down into the glass, so at least that area will likely need some attention before painting.
Hi,
I think the look is caused by too thick a layer of paint.
This is often the result of.... "if some is good, a lot must be better".
I believe any repair wouldn't be satisfactory for long because it would just be MORE paint.
Regards,
Alan
