Default Thoughts on PO2's

What do you think a good price on a decent set of PO2's would be? I have an opportunity to get a set but its a 3 hour drive to get them. They seem like a good deal.I don't know if its worth the trip. Thoughts?

I have seen prices from $250 - $1,200...it really depends if they are correct with the right rise in the center piece, the correct emblems and of course....condition, condition, condition! Driving 3 hours to be disapponited is not my cup of tea....photos would help, and you can always shop, shop, shop....they are out there!!!!!!!!!!

PS....I really do like the look of a C3 with them on!!!!!!

Stay in tune....

The GM engineers did a great job of designing the cover. It looks a lot like a '67 bolt-on.
I like mine.

A decent set of P02 wheel covers will run you at least $500...even more if show condition. Three years ago at Corvettes at Carlisle, I saw a NOS set of P02's for $1800 and an excellent set for $800...of course, that's asking prices, not what they may have actually brought (if they sold at all). That was also before the current economic climate. I guess if one spends the money it takes to restore a car, an additional $800-$1800 for wheel covers to complete the car isn't much of a stretch.

P02's look great but they're heavy and stick out so far you have to be careful not to bang your shins on them. To my eye, they look best with white stripe tires...not blackwalls or even worse...white letter tires. Blackwalls and white letter tires look best with Rally Wheels.

On early C3's, P02's look best with thin stripe tires (white/red/gold/blue); ralleys look good on blackwalls and even better with raised white letter tires.

I recently was flipping through Autabuy, or one of the classic used car listings and in the back were a set of PO-2's for 25 bucks. In retorspect I should have grabbed them. Couldn't tell the condition from the small pic in the ad.
Good deals do pop up from time to time.
I like them but still prefer the Rally wheels.

PO2's with blackwalls on my 70 454 and love the look. With thin whitewalls they do look good, but i like the performance of my 255/60/15's tires.

Depends on where you get them. I bought a third set this spring for $300, plus shipping. They're decent.

I think PO2's are great but they are HEAVY. If one ever flew off at 80 MPH they would destroy what ever it hit.

I don't see anything wrong with the PO2s and white letter tires. I don't like white wall tires either way. My 70 LT-1 came from the factory with PO2s and white letters. I bought a pretty nice set for 250.00. I've seen sets that needed a lot of work as cheap as 40 bucks. And Ive seen them for a whole lot more that were NOS suposedly.
