Default Warning to all

Two years ago I pulled my L48 cam out and put a mild 272H cam in with some vortec heads. Last weekend I pulled it all out and put in a 383 stroker with the 292H cam. While looking over the old cam and lifters I noticed a lot of wear on both. I hadn't been using the zinc additive cause "that stuff is just for solid lifters and guys with big cams". WRONG ! Solid lifter or hydraulic - we all need this stuff. Go to your local speed shop and get some. Its about $15 - $17 bucks per bottle.
Comp Cams made the stuff I bought - but they had others there too.

And oh yeah - the 383 stroker is sweet. Bought the short block from CNC Motors outta Brookings SD. You Americans can sure put a nice combo together at a rock bottom price. Picked up the 383 Thursday. Pulled the old 350 out on Friday. By Sunday afternoon it was all buttoned up and I was out on a curling rink of a highway going home to put it away til spring again. Only 6 more months of winter
