Default Update

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to give you all an update.

I got new tires put on last week and the shop said my old tires had a manufacture date of 1994 so they were 17 year old tires
No wonder they were so wobbly. They also put in new frontbearing seals and repacked them with grease, they said the seals were shot and the bearings were pretty dry.

Now there is no shaking in the front end

I went for a drive yesterday and my power steering belt came off and got knarled up by the fan, so I got a replacement just like it but it seems that the belt is to long and I cannot get it tight. The power steering pump seems like it is over as tight as I can get it and the belt is still loose.

I think the belt that came off was too loose anyway which is why it came off. Maybe when they put the new crate motor in the engine pully was a little smaller thus making the belt a little loose.

Been 20 years since I worked on any engines but I think I am trying to tighten it up correctly. I loosened the two front bolts and the one in the back that is on the slide but the belt wont tighten up like its bottomed out already.

Thanks,
