Is there any significance to the marks, or is it just stripes, like a Baldwin Motion?

Originally used to aid identification from the pits. For LeMans they'd actually be on the right fender.

I thought it related to the five 1963 "grand sport" corvettes
http://www.racingicons.com/gs/
...but I don't see the 'hash marks' actually on those cars

IIRC, Dick Guldstrand may have first had them as far back as '66.

Are these just typically made at trim/decal shops or is there some that can be bought alrerady cut to a standard size? I've been contemplating adding a pair of these to my 69 but not sure yet.

Is there a standard size? It appears that there are differences just by looking at the photos posted so far.

Thanx all
Terry

Yes, it is an insulation that slows down radiant heat loss, I think it is called "Reflectix" or something like that, and I bought it at Home Depot. Stapled it to the wooden door 15 yrs ago, works great at keeping the heat in.

The set on my car are from GM. They are the same that went on the C6 Z06 Ron Fellows Edition.

Looks good! I see you have your T Tops on the wall there, are they tied down in any way, I see the hose over the bottom hooks, but is there anything else there also? Thanks

Nothing else. They lean against the wall. Been there over 15 years, never had them move in any way. You would have to pull them out about a foot to make them fall. They are on some wall hooks that I bought at Home Depot, and they came with foam already around them. I think they are made for ladders. They work awesome.

The stripe's on my 1973 are two inch and were painted on before the Corvette was cleared. These stripe's on my Mustang are two inch tape that I bought from the local sign shop. They were applied later, shortly after it was painted. The tape has held up just fine. The space in between the stripe's were what ever looked good to me at the time.

Marty.
