You should probably pull the oil pan right away to assess whether that unit has had a major failure [or not], since you bought it over the internet. Depending on how it was purchased, you may only have a specific amount of time to contest the sale...if it was fraudulent.
If you find metal debris [bright metal...not clutch plate residue] or a freshly cleaned pan interior, that could signal trouble. The pan on a well-used unit is NEVER "clean".

Great score!
The tag by the tail shaft should have "7BR" on it if it from a 87 GN Buick. Even if this transmission needs rebuilding, that was a great price. It's worth it just to get the GN valve body and governor. I had to pay $100 for a CZ (Monte SS) core.

Planned on doing that today while watching the race in tha garage....
I know there is a little fluid still in there I think... But the guy made use to plug up all holes so no crap got in it.... and to be honest, i dont think the guy scammed me.. went to house to get unit. played with his kid.. he was just an out of work car head that was selling all his extra crap he never used on his projects..
If I would havehad to go to a 7-11 or something to get it I would have been a little worried ,,, either way 60.00.. is worth the chance,.
I Was gonna wait till nxt winter for this swap, but now that i have it..LOLOL.. I have to have it..LOLOLOL
