My 69 has an original am/fm Delco mono radio (I beleive). I thought the 69 had only one kick pannel speaker on the right but it appears that there is another speaker on the left side. I realize that I could remove the left pannel and check, but I'm wondering if this is original or did my car in fact come with a stereo. Thanks in advance.
Your car could have come with stereo provided the original owner ordered it.
Purchase the 69 assembly instruction manual (AIM). The AIM shows the factory installation of each speaker (2), and the optional mono/stereo set up.
Original radios had a manufacturuer's label on the right side. You might be able to remove the console trim and see the label on yours. Can't quite see the label on this one:
The 69 radio has a pretty good sized cable attached to it for the multiplexer unit, if you can see that clearly. From the face, the stereo actually lights up a green "stereo" word in the top right corner.
