Default Maxjax Pump ?

Hey Gang,

I was putting my Maxjax pump together and have two conflicting directions in the instruction manual and neither work. One shows mounting the flow divider on the front of the cart above the pump and the other shows the divider on the rear of the cart down low.

On mine there is not room for the flow divider above the pump. My resivoir looks taller than the one pictured below.

Putting the flow divider on the back and there is no good way to route the hose to the pump.

Any pics of your setup would be appreciated.

Trent

I'm assuming that the picture is your pump but my flow divider is located on the front as your picture shows. The reservoir just rides above the base of the pump stand. You may have installed the plate between the frame uprights upside down so the bolt holes are not showing or the pump rides to high on the stand. I think I did that initially and figured out that wasn't going to allow the divider on top as you're discovering.

I found the instruction guide limited, dated and a poor assemby guide so can understand the confusion.

Call the Maxjax they'll send you the right hoses.

The fix:

I moved the back plate that holds the pump up one set of holes and drilled new holes for the top of the plate. I then drilled holes for the pump diverter. I think Maxjax must have changed the reservoir bottle to a narrow/taller bottle which messed up the mounting on the back plate.

Looks good. I learned on mine some change resulted in the hose not reaching the pump from the manifold. Your looks in good shape.

Where did you pick up the right angle fittings?

I got the fittings from Napa, but my local Napa does a lot more than auto parts. You might try tractor supply.

Have you run fluid thru your system yet? I found I had to really crank down on fittings to stop leakage. Leaked like a sieve.

My fittings came with a small bit of teflon tape already applied. I removed it and applied more teflon tape and have not had any leakeage problems.
