For a 72, what is the color of the hinges on the 3 door rear console. Black or matches interior color? Want to get it right.

The storage compartment hinges on my '71 are painted to match the interior panel color (interior trim code color). There are no [substantive] differences between the '71 and '72 cars. The trick will be: "How do you paint the 'outer' portion of the hinges without painting the 'inner' hinge pivot rod?" I'm sure these were originally painted by the hinge maker before the pivot rod was assembled.

Since "expert" staus is required, I defer to 7T1 and Sarge.

(P.S. I also agree with them.)
