I want to shim my trailing arm where my tires don't rub so I can bring the car to an alingment shop and save towing expense and I can't remember where they go.

The shims go on either or both sides of the trailing arm where the bolt goes through (the busings) to the frame. Are the tires rubbing the trailing arms?

Shimming the trailing arms is for correct toe-in settings. It isn't meant to provide tire clearance.

Go slowly.

If you've got some big-a$$ tires on there, you need offset trailing arms..not shims.
