Default 68 Replacement Dash Parts ?

Hi Guys,

Seems like it's a bit harder to find replacement parts for a 68 model rather than 69-71.
I'm having trouble finding a dash panel that surrounds the water, oil, temp gauges. Someone has cut the panel out to fit a newer stereo in the car.
Anyone supply these new ?
Is the 69 model different ?
I would like to tidy up the interior of this coupe.

Thanks for any help.

Most all the vendors have it, Wilcox, Zips and the like, The 68 one is pricey though with the 69 less. The only difference is the 68 has a texture surface and the 69 is smooth.

OK,

I can order a 69 dash panel and it will fit straight in ?
Sounds positive.
Cheers.

It will fit fine. Just won't be "correct" in terms of the surface finish. Minor detail unless you are restoring for correctness and judging.

Hi Luke,
As has been said.... that surface texture is one of things that make a 68 a 68.
I'd think carefully about not spending the extra money.

Alan

Welcome to the 68 One Year Only Club.

...Anyone supply these new?...
New NOS could be extremely hard to find. The aftermarket providers carry reproductions. This one is from ZIP Products:

Yes. The 68 bezel is one year only because of the smooth surface. 69 and up will fit, but have a pebble grained surface.

FYI: the 68 console trim plate with the crossed flags on the tailpiece is also one year only.

Wilcox has them

Not only are there one-off parts for 68's, but there also one-offs for early and late model year 68's That said, there are two different bezels, one for early 68's, one for late(has the winshield wiper override light)
