Default Survivor Status Question

Looking at replacing original exhaust system on my 81'
My car only has 19000 original miles and is still all stock and the exhaust system is fine......
I want replace it with a straight dual system with MagnaFlow mufflers from CC.....My question is will this affect "Survivor Status" if I do this ?
Also, should I keep original mufflers, cat etc for future sale ?
Lastly, CC has another exhaust package that include Patriot Headers....should I upgrade to the header package ??

"Survivor" is a Bloomington Gold term for original, unrestored cars. So yes it will, as the car will no longer be original.

Under Bloomington Survivor and NCRS Bow Tie judging, allowances are made for wear items, such as exhaust. Changing the exhaust to something other than a stock configuration, is not allowed though.

A car is only original once. If you want to call the car, an original, low miles car, then you should leave it alone. If this doesn't matter to you, do what you want with it, and enjoy it. Save the original parts, if you want to return it to stock some day.

Here's what the rules are from the Bloomington website ( http://www.bloomingtongold.com/inc.php?link=survivor ). Go to link for details. Likely you can still retain survivor after replacing exhaust, but i probably wouldn't do it.

•Is over 20 years old.
•Can pass a road test over 20 miles
•Remains over 50% unrestored, un-refinished, or unaltered.
•Retains finishes good enough to use as a color guide for restoration of a car just like it.

Judges inspect only four components: Exterior, Interior, Underhood and Chassis. Cars must pass at least three of these four categories in order to become SURVIVOR Certified.

Well on that note I won't be applying for Survivor status. When I bought the car last summer I changed the original rear leaf suspension to a composite mono leaf to help with the ride (and shocks)......

It is "almost" a DD and do want to enjoy it in the summer months and try to squeeze a few more ponies out......straight duals here I come

Thanks to all !
