I have heavy red oil leaking from the bottom of my steering box, Bubba in my 69. So I need to get rid of the oil and replace with a high temp lithium grease.
I thought I was told not to remove the top cover as it can cause issues with the gear lash and cause a failure.
Any suggestions of how to remove the oil from the box?

I've never cracked open the steering box, but I would use something like a turkey baster to suck it out. You may have to add a piece of hose to be able to get all the way into the bottom of the steering box.
