Did you try adjusting the bumper stops in the rear of the hood? They allow for some up and down movement. Try that first.

Is the front edge of the hood dipped below the hood surround panel when this is ocurring? Hopefully so.

If so - the latches most likely need adjusted to allow the hood to set lower at the rear of the hood.

Also - at the same time - ensure the hood is not hitting the carb/intake seals...

Any pics - can you give a background... wreck? new hood? out of adjustment?

In preface - be careful not to latch the hood and be unable to open it. If so - reach up from underneath and pull the cable. It would be a good idea to research and look how the cable works.... maybe even put a alternate thin rope from it and hang it down the firewall as a 'safety' latch.

Anyway - those nipple looking things are most likely protruding to high up and need 'screwed' down. NOte the 'collar' around the base - tap it with a hammer and screwdriver lightly to untighten and then screw the nipple down. Retighten the collar to lock in place. Don't do too muych at once - as if you do 'jam' the hood too tight, it could be hard to re-open.

My 75 does the same thing I looked and all my fenders are lined up and the doors are lined up but the back of the hood just gets higher It does come to a point out there maybe we did no get the proper fiber glass matt thickness in that area letting it tend to curl up over time Hot, Cold ,hot cold ,Not sure but Im glad when I show my car they always want the hood is UP. and cover the chrome air cleaner covers.
