there are a few things I like about it, on their own(headlights are kinda cool)...but its too much all together...well kinda, as it is a show car, so the totally over-the-top thing is working as intended
I didn't see it on e-bay, but I do remember it from the old "World of Wheels" and other ISCA custom car shows in the 70's. It was a regular at custom car shows for many years.
It's not my "cup of tea", but I have seen worst customs.
that's why they call it customizing a car. it takes all kinds, and in many cases it's not really done for the "beauty" of it, it's done for the "shock" value at a show. a head turner or a car that just draws a crowd. the pomona show every january has buildings full of these types of no cost spared, 10,000 hour hand built customs. as was previously mentioned, it comes down to "each to his own". me personally, i might stare at it at a show, but wouldn't want it in my garage and have to claim ownership of it, lol.
I think for a custom it is well done. It is a major head turner! I actually kind of like how they did the interior. I love the TV! That's just what they did back in the 70's and 80's.
A lot of work went into that, and the craftmanship looks great. But I think it is just too over the top. Too much of a good thing can actually end up bad.
"Back in the day" when over the top was cool and way over the top was even cooler. As a kid I loved this kind of stuff. Today... well even my taste in music has changed a bit( I don't listen to the Monkee's any more).
